About WCPS

Objectives

  • The preservation of the Wolli and Bardwell Creek valleys in a natural condition
  • Removal of all county and road reservations affecting the Wolli Creek Valley
  • Protection of the area from further urban development particularly residential, commercial or industrial developments or the setting up of formal or dedicated playing fields
  • To encourage the re-establishment of native flora and fauna to the maximum extent possible within the area
  • To encourage and participate in the development of Wolli Creek Valley as a passive outdoors recreational, educational and scientific resource.

Meetings

General meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of every month, at the Community Development Office, 11-13 Harthill-Law Ave, Bardwell Park, 7.30 pm.

Committee

Twelve committee members are elected at the Annual General Meeting of the Society. It comprises the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and eight members. All members are encouraged to be involved in the running and operations of the Society, and are invited to attend meetings.

Membership year

1 January to 31 December, but if you join after 1 October and before 31 December your membership will carry through until the end of the following year.

Wolli Creek Update

The Society's newsletter informs the membership of activities, dates of meetings and issues of interest to society members. It is published three times a year or more often if required. Go to the Resources page to download or view past issues of our newsletter (PDF - requires Acrobat Reader).

History of the Society

Formed in 1983, the Society is incorporated under the Associations Incorporations Act. The Society has actively opposed the construction of the M5 East motorway through the valley.

Members have encouraged community use of the valley and conducted environmental walks and education activities for schools and the general community as well as organising bush regeneration activities.
